Dharma < The Red Breath > Initiation

Depuis quelques années, je m'intéresse à plusieurs sites, sur les cinq continents, pour mon projet autour du sacré « The Red Breath ».
Le temple de Borobudur sur l'île de Java en Indonésie est l'un de ceux-là. C'est pour cette raison que je propose au festival Cellsbutton à Yogyakarta, situé à quelques kilomètres du temple, ma participation depuis Paris.
L'esprit de cette manifestation résonne avec des laboratoires d'artistes qui questionnent la science, comme le Makrolab en Slovènie ou hackitectura.net au LABoral en Espagne. Dans la fiction télévisuelle « Lost », une autre cellule de chercheurs (scientifiques) est apparue sur une île. C'est la « Dharma Initiative ». Dans l'une de ses stations, il est obligatoire de rentrer un code sur un ordinateur pour empêcher une explosion électro-magnétique.
C'est à partir de ces éléments, que j'édite gratuitement un badge, en collaboration avec la graphiste Claire Morel, à une centaine d'exemplaires pour les participants du festival. S'il est composé du plan architectural de Borobudur qui est un mandala, avec au centre le logo de Cellsbutton, ce n'est pas le logo de la « Dharma Initiative ». Mais je propose pourtant de suivre une règle ouverte, un « Dharma ». A chaque participant qui allume ou éteint le bouton de son ordinateur, je lui demande de penser à sa vie passée, pendant quelques secondes, autrement qu'en On/Off... pour un avenir autre.
Notre invitation tente ainsi de signaler l'importance, du contexte et du geste, d'une prise de conscience à l'heure de la globalisation numérique, d'une possible mise en commun d'énergies à distance.

For the last few years, I have been interested in several sites on the five continents for my project about the sacred “Red Breath”.
The temple of Borobudur, on the island of Java in Indonesia, is one of these places. For this reason, I propose my participation from Paris in the festival Cellsbutton in Yogyakarta, located in a few kilometers of the temple.
The spirit of this festival resonates with art labs questioning science, like Makrolab in Slovenia or hackitectura.net in LABora, Spain. In the television fiction “Lost”, a cell of scientific researchers appear on an island. It is the “Dharma Initiative”. In one of its stations, a code must be entered on a computer to prevent an electromagnetic explosion.
Using these elements, I'm publishing a free badge, in collaboration with graphic designer Claire Morel, in a limited edition of a hundred for the participants of the festival. It shows the architectural plan of Borobudur which is a mandala, with the logo of Cellsbutton in the center (not the logo of “Dharma Initiative”). I propose a general order, a “Dharma”. As each participant pushes his computer button ON/OFF, I ask him to think of his life during these few seconds, in another way than ON/OFF… for a different future.
Our invitation thus tries to show the importance of context and gesture, towards an open consciousness of digital globalization, of a possible network of energies.
